Tzu Chi Monthly was first published in July 1967. It uses a literary reporting style to record real and beautiful contemporary people and events and to preserve the essence of life that is worth passing down to future generations. From a perspective of humanistic care, it explores social and life issues in a realistic way, and discovers the “power of good life” in Taiwan’s grassroots, such as the concept of doing good deeds among ordinary people, the life resilience that shines in adversity, and the unknown heroes who work to protect the environment and purify the earth. At the same time, the magazine also provides real-time reports and long-term follow-up care for major disasters around the world. Tzu Chi Monthly aims to “serve as a source of purified water for the mind, a pillar of harmony for society, and eyes and ears for those in distress.” The topics covered in the magazine are close to people’s hearts and lives, encompassing care for society, the mind, and life. The writing style is suitable for reading by the whole family. The magazine hopes to create a gentle “spiritual project” for society and provide readers with positive values for life, sparking the power of doing good deeds.
