In Memory of Tino Chu—The Mission of a Taiwanese Man in Zimbabwe

Seated on a dry riverbed, Tino Chu looks at a spot where residents have dug for water. In Zimbabwe, where infrastructure is limited, a single well is a lifeline for health and survival. Hlengisile Jiyane

Tino Chu, a Taiwanese businessman turned humanitarian, spent over two decades serving those in need in Zimbabwe, inspiring more than 3,000 local volunteers along the way. His love for the country ran so deep that he vowed to be reborn there for five lifetimes, continuing to safeguard its people. On February 24, he passed away peacefully in his sleep at the age of 71—no final goodbye, no warning—but the love he poured into Zimbabwe lives on.
